AMAZING ACRO-CATS
Samantha Martin and The Amazing Acro-Cats, one of only four performing house-cat troupes in the U.S., return to the Shadowbox Theatre for performances through Dec. 23. The feline performers will perform amazing feats, jumping through wreaths, rolling ornaments, pushing a sleigh and performing other seasonal tricks. The Rock-Cats will carol for the crowd, regaling the audience with songs such as 'A Cat in a Manger,' 'Catnip Roasting on an Open Fire' and 'God Rest Ye Merry Kittens.' When the Rock-Cats rolled through town in March 2011, arts writer Doug MacCash sat down with trainer Samantha Martin and her band to talk about their free-form jazz. See more at the Acro-cats website.
12/12/12 ADOPTION EVENTIn honor of the unique date 12/12/12, the SPCA will offer $12 pet adoptions, which include vaccinations, spay/neuter surgery, microchip, rabies vaccination and Orleans Parish license (a $300 value) from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday (Dec. 12).
