In concert: Big shows making their way to South Florida

Elton John, Lenny Kravitz and Kenny Rogers are all bringing their tours to South Florida.

The first salvo arrived last week ? Lenny Kravitz scheduled a show for Feb. 25 at the Fillmore Miami Beach.

Then another show. And another show. And another.

Looks like the holiday doldrums are over. With a vengeance.

Elton John, Kenny Rogers and Tool have all announced shows this week ? John and Tool are coming to the BankAtlantic Center, John on March 9 and Tool on Feb. 6. Meanwhile, Rogers has opted for the more cozy environs of Hard Rock Live on Jan. 28.

John is touring with a band that includes two guys that were part of his landmark pop-rock smash singles during the 1970s ? guitarist Davey Johnstone and drummer Nigel Olsson. John is promising a show that will have ?all the hits?, including the likes of ?Bennie and the Jets?, ?Philadelphia Freedom? and ?Rocket Man?.

Rogers also has a show that promises some big hits, like ?She Believes In Me? and ?The Gambler?. Meanwhile, Tool is coming off a hiatus since 2008, and though they haven?t released new music ? Maynard James Keenan, the group?s lead singer, has said bandmates Adam Jones and Danny Carey are working on songs ? the group has a powerful catalog to fall back on.

Kravitz ? who is touring with Raphael Saadiq ? might be the only one of this group to actually have new music, touring to support the album Black and White America. But even he won?t shy away from the hits ? I mean, who wouldn?t want to hear ?Are You Gonna Go My Way?? one more time?

Tickets for Kravitz and Tool are on sale now. Rogers? tickets go on sale Friday. John?s tickets will go on sale on Jan. 14.
